Turning Curiosity Into Tools: My Competitive Analysis Project

How I built a competitive analysis tool that transforms website research into actionable business insights using Lovable, Python, and OpenAI.

    Competitive Analysis Tool Interface

One of the things I love the most about tech is how it allows us to transform ideas into something real. Sometimes it starts with a simple thought: "This could be easier… what if I built something to help?" That's how my Competitive Analysis Tool was born.

When I'm creating funnels or automations, there's one step that always makes a huge difference: looking at competitors. Not in a "let's copy" way, but in a "let's understand the game" way. Because here's the thing — you can have the most advanced software in your hands, the latest shiny trend, but if you're not aligning everything with the actual business goals, the moment, and the client's needs… it all ends up being just noise. Money spent without real results.

That's exactly where I like to step in. My role is to connect the dots: business → strategy → tech.

    How I Built It

For this project, I combined three of my favorite things:

    • Lovable for the front-end, because I wanted something fast and user-friendly.
    • Python for the logic and automation.
    • OpenAI for the intelligence and flexibility to really dig into the data.

The tool crawls a competitor's website and pulls out everything from pricing info and social links to CTAs, forms, SEO, and even the tech stack they're using. You can pick pre-built templates like SWOT or Pricing Strategy, or you can customize your own prompt to focus on what matters most to you.

    Why It Matters

The whole idea behind this isn't just about building "a cool tool." It's about saving time and making smarter decisions. Before building any automation or funnel, you need clarity: What's the business goal? Who's the audience? What problem are we really solving right now?

That clarity is what turns tools into solutions. Otherwise, even the best system in the world won't move the needle.

I had a lot of fun creating it, and honestly, this is the kind of project that makes me love what I do — using tech to make processes lighter, smarter, and aligned with real goals.
